Cash in National Grid will pay you to sit in the dark today.
Fucking Jesus, a massive 10 pounds if you switch everything off from 5pm until 6pm. Cunts.

Auntie,

A very gentle way of suggesting this is social engineering and the first temperature rise on the frog and I am inclined to agree with you.

I bet they won't do that in all these hotels the illegals are staying in paid for by us taxpayers.

This is one reason our bills are skyrocketing the energy companies/government need to claw back the money somehow!

How did we get to this pass when our basic needs of water, heat and light are governed by people who can charge us for it. The Government, as inept and as useless in any form over generations pass these needs over to private companies. Then the said incompetent Government pay us a heating subsidy to help pay the exorbitant and profiteering charges these private companies send us in order to keep shareholders happy. The sooner we stop allowing these cunts in power to ask the questions and then give us the answers the better for us all.

I have SMETS1 smart meters which can no longer be read by BG so this is useless for me.

Re: Cash in National Grid will pay you to sit in the dark today.
Have to have a smart meter so it won't benefit people using a card meter which many have been put on due to not keeping up with payments.

So not assisting any one really in need bottom of the pile.

I've opted in, but considering my usage was 0.18 kW h last Monday between 5pm and 6pm, I'm not likely to get anything worthwhile back.

I'll probably end up using more if I'm home early from work.

hilarious that they're trying to pass this off as a positive thing while completely missing that point of how the country has ended up in this position.

As it happens Mrs is at the gym and I will finish work at that time so I might just wrap up go for a brisk smug walk as part of a wannabe lower middle class wheeze.

The problem is for the most part those most in need of the £10 are least able to make the adjustment to take advantage of it.

It’s a good way of peak lopping and smoothing out the demand.

£10 is a lot to some family's these days. That's the crime here.

A tenner is a tenner.

People can just hold on running errands and go out during that time. Money for doing nothing.

I'm going to purposely put the washing machine, tumble dryer, TVs, Xbox and all my chargers on. That'll teach the cunts 🤣

Why don't they just build more power stations?

I'm sure the shareholders will willingly cough up the spondulux to pay for them and then just sit back and wait for the profits to pour in.
